Ball & Chain first opened in 1935 on Calle Ocho in Little Havana, becoming one of Miami's most popular nightspots through the 1940s and '50s, with legends like Billie Holiday and Chet Baker known to have played its stage. The club closed in 1957 and sat dormant for decades before developers Bill Fuller, Zack Bush, and Ben Bush restored the historic building and reopened it as Ball & Chain in September 2014, reviving its live-music, Cuban-cocktail legacy.
